Show Notes

Discover what’s possible when motivation leads the way to positive relationships.

Our guests today are Robert and Nadine Schramm. Robert is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, a former special education instructor, and a published author. Nadine is an Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior Consultant and leads their Knospe-ABA office in Germany. Robert and Nadine offer consultation, education, and workshop services to families who are looking for support, whether or not their children have received autism diagnoses.

In today’s conversation, we discuss Robert and Nadine’s efforts to disseminate Applied Behavior Analysis in Germany and the kinds of services currently available for families. Originally from Germany, Nadine shares how the attitudes towards autism in her community have changed over the years.

We also talk about Robert’s books, which have been translated into several languages. His first book, published in 2007 and updated in 2011, is titled Motivation and Reinforcement: Turning the Tables on Autism. His second book, The 7 Steps to Earning Instructional Control, was co-written with Dr. Megan Miller, whom we also featured in last week’s episode. Robert explains how to apply the 7 Steps and why the principles behind them are useful for anyone interested in creating a strong learning environment.
